We have found the YMCA Digital Skills Youth Internship Program invaluable for us to bring on and train new employees. In our industry skills can only be learned on the job and not in the classroom; thus the 4 month window provided by the internship program gives us about the exact amount of time needed to bring on a new recruit and get Interns like Stacey up to speed.

Having a Communications Coordinator Intern @ Local Investment Toward Employment (LITE)  from the YMCA's Digital Skills Youth Internship Program over the summer was a fantastic support for our organization. The support allowed us to do so much more this summer and Matt our Post-Secondary Grad Intern really did a great job on all of the tasks assigned to him.

The YMCA Digital Skills Youth Internship Program is really a win-win for everybody. The interns benefit by gaining valuable on-the-job experience, developing their skills, as well as giving them meaningful employment related to their academic background. It is also extremely beneficial for the host organizations as it gives them additional resources to complete important tasks.

Working with the YMCA Digital Skills Youth Internship Program to provide work experience for a young person as a Digitization Intern @ Museum of Vancouver  was a great experience all round.  The application process was straightforward, and if assistance was needed, the program coordinator at the YMCA returned phone calls and emails quickly.
