The YMCA Digital Skills Youth Internship Program is really a win-win for everybody. The interns benefit by gaining valuable on-the-job experience, developing their skills, as well as giving them meaningful employment related to their academic background. It is also extremely beneficial for the host organizations as it gives them additional resources to complete important tasks. Robyn, our 2012 Conversation GIS Technician Intern @ Nature Conservancy of Canada, fit into the organization immediately and provided help and perspective on several important and complex projects. She excelled well beyond our expectations and we were fortunate to be able to extend Robyn’s term. She is now proving herself to be a very capable and skilled leader within the region.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the YMCA for offering this internship opportunity. The Nature Conservancy of Canada, Saskatchewan region was very happy to be a part of the program and hopefully we can mentor future DSYIP interns. The program really is a win-win for everybody involved!
